What are the longest nine months for finer life individuals to suffer through? Yes ladies, we fully understand the joy of child bearing and child birth, but in this case, we are talking about the long, painfully grueling nine months of NFL football off-season. Sure, hockey is cool, baseball is ok, college basketball somewhat fills part of the void, but nothing compares to the hard-hitting action and drama that revolves around our professional American football world. How does the finer slice community celebrate our passion on football Sunday?
Longer Hours than a Typical Workday
Luckily the NFL hierarchy realizes our needs and provides scheduling that keeps us on the edge of our seats for 13 hours on gridiron Sunday. The enthusiastic fan can don his or her favorite team jersey and begin the festivities early in the morning, especially on Americas west coast where pre-game shows start around 7:00 A.M. Chris Berman and the gang on NFL Countdown keep us abreast of the latest happenings in the league and discuss the upcoming games as our parade of food begins. This continues through the early round of games, the second round of afternoon games, and culminates with the Sunday night game. NFL football is by far a finer slice of life that is filled with the four F’s – fun, friends, family and food.
Did We Say Parade of Food
You didn’t think we were going to leave out the menu, did you? Let’s start off the morning with a western omelet, glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice and a steaming mug of fresh coffee. Then we can analyze the days schedule with top quality commentary from Berman and the boys. Around kick-off time of the first games, the serious eating commences. We like pretzels, chips, spicy hot wings, prosciutto ham and mozzarella sandwiches, honey mustard and spicy hot wings. Yes, we meant to mention wings twice as they are very important. Dinner can be anything really, but how about steak and cheese subs or pizza and fries? Sundays during NFL season are truly memorable and one of the finer things in life. So do yourself a favor, lock in some free-time next Sunday to enjoy the finer slice NFL show… all 13 hours of it.
